Statement from WIA: WIA Supports 5G Budget Prioritization

February 10, 2020 by

“WIA is grateful that the very first page of the president’s budget called for the need to ‘prioritize’ 5G. We are thrilled with the support in the budget for training through apprenticeships which can prepare the wireless workforce of tomorrow. We also appreciate the administration’s call for a ‘whole-of-Government approach’ and the need to refocus on the skills required for the jobs of the future, including 5G,” said WIA President and CEO Jonathan Adelstein. “WIA supports the administration’s recognition that apprenticeship through the Department of Labor is a proven method for training in ‘high-growth areas,’ and we will support the president’s goal of developing the workforce to win the race to 5G.”
