Statement: WIA Supports FCC Efforts to Remove Regulatory Barriers

March 1, 2018 by igvsupport

The Wireless Infrastructure Association (WIA) issued the following statement from Jonathan Adelstein, President and CEO of WIA, regarding the draft “Wireless Infrastructure Streamlining Report and Order” released today by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

“We commend the FCC’s continued efforts to remove regulatory barriers to wireless infrastructure deployment. The actions the FCC takes with this order will enable streamlined review while promoting responsible and sustainable deployment. This Order’s requirements for efficient and effective wireless siting review procedures will help connect more communities and bring our nation closer to realizing its 5G potential and all the benefits next-generation networks provide. We’re especially pleased that the FCC is seeking to modernize the tribal notification system to provide all parties with greater clarity regarding the review process, it’s timelines, and associated fees.”
