WIA Statement on Government-Run 5G Network

January 29, 2018 by igvsupport

The Wireless Infrastructure Association (WIA) issued the following statement from Jonathan Adelstein, President and CEO of WIA, regarding initial plans from the Trump administration to build and operate a federal 5G network.

“The wireless industry in the U.S. has designed and deployed mobile networks that are the envy of the world. These networks have been conceived, financed and managed by private industry. In order to maintain our leadership in wireless communications at this pivotal time and to usher in new 5G technologies, we need to encourage more private investment into building out mobile networks through rational policies that affect the siting of vital wireless infrastructure.”
