WIA Statement on Passage of MOBILE NOW

August 3, 2017 by igvsupport

The Wireless Infrastructure Association (WIA) issued the following statement from President and CEO Jonathan Adelstein regarding the Senate’s passage of the MOBILE NOW Act.

“The MOBILE NOW Act is an important step toward removing unreasonable barriers to wireless broadband investment, opening up federal property for the speedier siting of much-needed wireless infrastructure, and requiring the federal government to auction more spectrum for commercial use. The wireless industry’s capacity to create jobs depends on the industry’s ability to efficiently deploy infrastructure in both urban and rural communities across the nation.

“WIA commends Commerce Committee Chair Thune and Ranking Member Nelson for their leadership, dedication, and focus on the vital role wireless broadband plays in our country. We look forward to continuing to work constructively together to create the strongest possible regime for broadband infrastructure investment.”
