WIA Supports Hawaii Governor’s Veto of Anti-REIT Legislation

July 10, 2019 by

Statement from WIA President and CEO Jonathan Adelstein in support of Hawaii Governor Ige’s veto of SB 301, anti-REIT legislation:

“The wireless infrastructure industry is pleased that Governor Ige has vetoed SB 301. This anti-investment legislation would have had a negative impact on Hawaii’s wireless future and 5G deployment. Much of the infrastructure supporting today’s wireless service is privately funded and REITs facilitate pooling of capital for such large investments. We commend Governor Ige for vetoing this bill and his commitment to ensuring that all Hawaiians have access to highest quality of wireless broadband.”
